Korea National Diplomacy Academy (KNDA) Thesis Competition
I participated in the 7th Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA) Thesis Competition and received the KNDA Chancellor Award on January 2, 2019.
To contribute to South Korea's foreign policy and to deepen graduate students’ understanding of Korean national security strategy, KNDA holds the thesis competition every year. Sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the competition is known as the most prestigious thesis competition targeting undergraduate and graduate students majoring in the related academic field.
My thesis topic was ‘Security Environment Changes on the Korean Peninsula and Korean Alliance Model.’ I examined the identity transformation of the ROK-US alliance under the changes in international security and domestic political environment and suggested a Korean Alliance Model in preparation for the North Korean denuclearization, the Korean Peace Process, and the key challenges that the ROK-US alliance is facing.
